The Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Unit (ISRU) of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, invites applications for the position of short –term Visiting Scientists from bright candidates who have recently obtained  a Ph. D.degree  in Statistics. Those   who  have submitted their  theses in any area of statistics and are awaiting for degrees may also apply. However preference will be given to any of the subjects/areas mentioned below. The tenure of the offer may be extended upon request if performance is found to be satisfactory and funds are available. Limited accommodation in the campus may be provided subject to availability.

Preferred Subjects/Areas:  Robust Statistics, Design of Experiments, Bayesian Statistics, Statistical Machine Learning, Image processing, Spatio-temporal Data Analysis, Nonparametric regression, Biostatistics, Multiple Hypothesis testing, High dimensional Data Analysis, Probability Inequality, Statistical Inference, Multivariate Analysis.
